It's hard to believe, but even by the 1980s there were virtually no books on the market aimed at the new computer user, or people who perhaps worked around computers, but didn't understand the technology. Sensing that need, I wrote and published in 1988 ComputersThe Plain English Guide (CTPEG). The response was overwhelmingly positive and within months of final publication CTPEG had been sold in every corner of the globe. The book came to be used by a majority of the Fortune 500, and as a teaching text by numerous, major schools and universities. CTPEG was easily one of the most popular intro-level computer books prior to the Dummies series (which became popular about the time I moved on to other projects and decided not to do a new edition).

People have asked me repeatedly if there is any way they can still get a copy, or if I'm planning to write anything new. The answer to both is yes!

However...

Comments and Suggestions

A generous amount of credit for the success of earlier editions of CTPEG goes to the numerous computer users and readers who so kindly gave me their input on the issues they considered most important. So comments and input are welcome. And, as before, if you are the first to contribute a new idea that wasn't in the book before I'll be happy to show my thanks by seeing that you get a complimentary copy of the new title when it is published!
